At The Wool Yard, we are passionate about transforming wool, that would otherwise be discarded, into a valuable resource for gardeners. We process wool into pellets that enrich the soil, retain water, and deter pests. Our wool pellets are natural, sustainable, and effective. We aim to provide wool pellets that help our customers grow healthy and beautiful plants, while supporting the environment and regenerative farming.

What are the benefits of wool pellets?

Pellets can reduce the need for watering by up to 25%. They keep soil consistently moist without the need for frequent watering.

Pellets gradually release nitrogen over about 6 months. Wool pellets mimic the natural rythms of the nutrient supply, ensuring steady nourishment for your plants.

Pellets deter common garden pests like slugs and snails

Pellets create air pockets in the soil, promoting healthy root growth

Wool pellets are environmentally friendly in addition to being safe for pets and kids to be around

How to use pellets?

Mixing with soil: For gardens, flower beds, potted plants, mix 1 cup of wool pellets with a gallon of soil

Application around existing plants: You can also apply wool pellets around existing plants. Simply sprinkle the pellets around the plants and gently incorporate them into the soil.

Pest Control: Wool pellets can be used as a natural pest deterrent. A 6 inch circumference is usually sufficient.

Watering: After applying the wool pellets, water the area thoroughly. The pellets will absorb the water and expand, improving the soil's water retention and aeration.

Maintenance: Over time, the wool pellets will break down and enrich the soil with nutrients. You can add more pellets as needed, usually every few months.
